I was raised a Catholic. Growing up in Houston my family was involved with the church and its various ministries. As a result, I was introduced to the Eucharist early on. However, it was not until my discernment retreat as a junior in high school that I finally gave God the opportunity to speak in the silence and heard the call. Having received a deep sense of peace and excitement, I began to pray more and seriously discern the call towards priesthood. Through Mass, Adoration, Spiritual Direction, and the Rosary, the Lord guided me to apply to and enter Holy Trinity Seminary.

“Religion requires sacrifice: It is not a crutch, but a cross. It is not an escape, it is a burden: not a flight, but a response. One leans on a crutch. But a cross rests on us.” – Archbishop Fulton Sheen
